A time for self exploration, The physical poses in this beautiful practice increase strength, flexibility and energetic flow in the body. Various meditation and pranayama (breathing) techniques are then followed to create a wonderful sense of balance, mindfulness and connection, calming the mind, body & soul. This class is suited for all levels including beginners.
In this slow, gentle, nourishing practice poses are held for 3 or more minutes, creating deep stretching within the joints, ligaments and connective tissues. This holding time allows us to explore our emotions and how they may effect the natural flow of chi (energy) that moves throughout our meridians (energy channels). As energetic beings, creating a balanced energetic flow is an important part in maintaining our overall health. Each week we focus on one of the five elements according to Chinese medicine and the 5 elements theory. This practice is suitable to all levels including beginners.
I AM yoga nidra is designed as more than a relaxation. It is a meditation technique that not only relaxes the body, but creates a different relationship with stress producing thoughts and emotions. It is designed to guide you to recognise the silent place of being that always resides within us. The I AM method focuses primarily on quieting the mind and boosting the energy flow in the body (prana) and goes for approx 30 minutes after your yin yoga practice.
